Mendoza is similar to most wine cities in that while it may be large in size, it is not in atmosphere. Imagine an area similar to Napa, California. There is a downtown “city center”, which is where I would recommend everyone to stay and a casino. However, outside of that, your only focus will be wine. And oh how delicious the wine is.
The two things I highly recommend when visiting Mendoza are: (1) go to Mendel winery. It was some of the best wine I’ve ever had in my life and (2) if you have time, stop by the spa at the Four Seasons. It’s reasonable inexpensive, compared to similar US spas, and the services were wonderful
Fun Fact: Torrontes is the only pure Argentinian wine. While Malbec is the most well-known Argentinian wine, grapes for Malbec come from around the world, with the majority coming from France. However, Torrontes, a delicious white wine, is purely from Argentina.
